Where Communication Heals

Understanding Grows, and Hope Leads the Way

About Me

I am Sinethemba Dlamini

The managing director and founder of Hopewood Family Mediation. I hold a BA Law degree from the University of Stellenbosch and have completed formal mediation training. I am NABFAM-accredited, ensuring that my practice meets recognised professional and ethical standards.

Who We Are

Hopewood Family Mediation, founded by Sine Dlamini, is a family-focused mediation practice dedicated to helping individuals, couples, and families navigate difficult conversations with clarity, dignity, and care.

We specialise in pre- and early-marital mediation for customary, civil or other recognized marriages, relationship and partnership disputes, family and divorce mediation, child-centred processes, separation settlements, and parenting plans.

The name Sinethemba means “we have hope”, a value that sits at the heart of this practice. At Hopewood, hope is not understood as wishful thinking or avoidance of conflict. Rather, it is the belief that, even in moments of uncertainty, separation, or change, there is the possibility of a better outcome, a healthier resolution, and a more peaceful way forward.

Rooted in a legal background and a deep understanding of family dynamics, Hopewood Family Mediation was established to offer a constructive alternative to adversarial legal processes. Our approach prioritizes communication, informed decision-making and sustainable agreements that serve both adults and children, now and into the future.

What Is Mediation?

Mediation is a voluntary, confidential process in which a neutral third party assists people in resolving disputes through guided discussion and mutual problem-solving. Unlike litigation, mediation empowers the parties themselves to reach solutions that are practical, fair, and tailored to their unique circumstances.

At Hopewood Family Mediation, we consult married and unmarried couples, co-parents, and families through relationship-related challenges. Our focus is on preserving relationships where possible, minimising conflict, and creating child-centred outcomes that promote stability, respect, and long-term cooperation.
